Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Health Care Aide to provide personal assistance and support across home, community and health care facilities. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assist with daily living activities and observe patient well-being, under supervision of a regulated health professional.

The role requires HCA registration eligibility, completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months, and at least 2 years of long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide.
• Proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
• 2 years recent experience as a Health Care Aide in a Long Term Care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Support patients across home, community and health care facilities.
• Assist nurses with routine care and observe patients' mood, health and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe environment and support effective communication with patients and health care professionals.
