Job summary

Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority is seeking a Health Care Aide to join the Long Term Care team. You will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse, performing duties related to personal care for clients/residents in a dynamic long-term care environment.

Qualifications include a Health Care Aide Certificate and current BCLS certification. Candidates should be able to follow policies, work with teams, and participate in ongoing education and security

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized educational institute.
• Current certification in BCLS (excluding Personal Care Home).
• Knowledge of activities of daily living and patient/resident care.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures and work with minimal supervision.
• Pre-employment security checks and satisfactory employment record.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Support Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse in patient care.
• Maintain safety, confidentiality and respectful workplace behavior.
• Participate in mandatory education and ongoing professional development.
