Job summary

The Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority is seeking a Health Care Aide – Uncertified to join the Long Term Care team. The role provides direct resident support under direction from the Registered Nurse and / or Licensed Practical Nurse and the Clinical Team Manager.

Seeking individuals with Grade 12, completion of the Uncertified HCA Learning Module and Practicum, and a commitment to respectful patient care in a culturally diverse setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education is required.
• Successful completion of IERHA Uncertified HCA Learning Module and Practicum.
• Demonstrates understanding of the Health Care Aide role in a health care setting.
• Previous related experience is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrates respectful workplace behavior and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meeting resident personal needs under RN/LPN and Clinical Team Manager guidance.
• Follow established policies and procedures.
• Work effectively in a dynamic, demanding environment using standardized assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation processes.
