Cogir Senior Living in Edmonton is seeking a Health Care Aide to provide personal care and support to residents on the 5th floor. This temporary position runs 7am-3pm, on-site, with a focus on dignity, safety and quality of life for seniors until about October 2027.

You will follow the plan of care under supervision by the Health & Wellness Manager or Director of Care, observe residents, assist with daily living activities and report changes promptly. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Health Care Aide program (or provincial equivalent certificate with 500 hours theory & practicum).
• Experience working with seniors in community health settings.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and customer focus skills.
• Current Basic Life Support and First Aid recommended.
• Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsabilités

• Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the supervisor.
• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to supervisor.
• Elevate medical emergencies to supervisor or EMS as appropriate.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals as required.
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring and adaptive aids.
• Demonstrate understanding of resident needs and maximize abilities.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents/families.
• Maintain resident information confidentiality.
• Engage with other agencies involved in resident care as directed.
• Attend in-services to develop knowledge and skills.
• Uphold ethics, morality, and integrity of the organization.
