Job summary

Carewest in Calgary is seeking a Health Care Aide to join our interprofessional care team. You will provide ongoing client care, monitor changes in status, and report them to the RN or LPN, ensuring timely communication and safety.

Reporting to the Director of Care, you will adhere to Carewest policies, maintain professional standards, and support a person-centered approach in a complex care setting with opportunities to grow within our team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
• Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
• Active and current registration with CLHA required.
• Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
• Program-specific training/experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• The Health Care Aide observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status.
• The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the RN and/or LPN.
• This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
