Job summary

Lifetimes Living Inc. in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a compassionate Cook to support residents with nutritious meals on a casual basis. The Cook reports to the Culinary Services Manager and ensures high-quality care aligned with the organization’s mission.

The starting wage is $22.14/hour with flexible hours, and the role includes supervising Dietary Aides, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and contributing to a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Food handler certification or equivalent training may be provided.
• Culinary designation/diploma is an asset.
• Experience in health care or hospitality is an asset.
• Familiar with weights, measurements, and portion control.
• Knowledge of Ontario Food Premises Regulation and Canada’s Food Guide.
• HACCP/WHMIS and safety systems knowledge.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals according to menu plans and regulatory requirements.
• Plate meals and respect resident preferences.
• Ensure meals are a positive experience and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Supervise Dietary Aides during food prep and service.
• Work within budget, reduce waste, follow policies.
• Maintain safe working environment and keep records (menus, PO, delivery receipts, temps).
• Assist in FIFO processes and collaborate across departments.
