Job summary

Eatonville Care Centre in Etobicoke, ON is seeking a Cook to join our Food Services team. The role reports to the Food Services Manager/Supervisor and focuses on high-quality meal preparation in alignment with our mission and patient care standards.

The wage rate starts at 26.04 CAD/hour. This existing vacancy requires a commitment to resident safety and collaborative teamwork across departments to deliver nutritious, compliant meals.

Qualifications

• Chef training or culinary management diploma preferred.
• Trade certificate in Cook or Institutional Cook awarded by Ontario bodies (preferred).
• Food Handlers Certification or actively pursuing certification is desirable.
• 3–5 years of related experience in long-term care, retirement, hospital or hotel settings.
• Knowledge of Ontario Food Premises Regulation and Canada’s Food Guide.
• Able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Clear vulnerable sector screening (within 6 months) and TB test results (within 6 months) or Chest X‑Ray (within 1 yr).

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals per menu and regulatory requirements.
• Make meals an experience, not just a task.
• Follow established cleaning procedures by the Food Services Manager.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in FIFO processes for food and supply products.
• Collaborate with Food Services and other departments.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned.
