Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare in Vancouver area is seeking a Homemaker to provide non-medical support to adults living independently at home. You will help with housekeeping, meal preparation, and companionship while promoting safety and independence in daily living.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, a valid driver’s license, and reliable vehicle. Prior homemaking or homecare experience is an asset, and the position is casual in nature.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience supporting adults in homecare is asset.
• Experience in homemaking, residential or community support or cleaning services preferred.
• Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, laundry, dishwashing, and bathroom/kitchen cleaning.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining safe living environments, including decluttering and supporting clients to develop household routines.
• Work in a variety of home environments, including homes that may be cluttered or require extensive cleaning and organization.
• Support clients with meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and encourage independence, community participation, and daily living skills.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities as required.
• Observe and report changes in client well-being, support needs, or home conditions.
• Complete required documentation and maintain confidentiality.
