Job summary

Interior Health in Salmon Arm is seeking a Casual Community Rehabilitation Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. Working under the direction of a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist, you will help implement rehabilitation plans and monitor patient progress in home and community settings.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program and hold a current BC Driver’s License.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program.
  • One year’s recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current valid BC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists the therapist in monitoring and evaluating patients/residents’ progression.
  • Assists clients with activities of daily living, and implements group and individual therapy programs in clients' homes and other community sites.

About the role:

Under the clinical direction of a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist, the Community Rehabilitation Assistant functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the client. The Community Rehabilitation Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists the therapist in monitoring and evaluating patients/residents’ progression. The Community Rehabilitation Assistant assists clients with activities of daily living, and implements group and individual therapy programs in clients homes and other community sites.
