Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 and related recreation experience or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of addictions, mental health, conflict resolution and violence prevention is an asset.
• Police Record Check clearance is a requirement for this position.
• First Aid certification and a second language are assets.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, implements and participates in arts, cultural, educational and sport recreation for Downtown East Side residents.
• Promotes active participation and engagement in programs.
• Leads regular trips and assists in event delivery including setup and takedown.
• Distributes promotional materials and handles some administrative tasks.
• Provides information and referrals to patrons regarding community services.
• Ensures facility and equipment are maintained and safe.
• Takes attendance and reports on participation; responds to emergencies as needed.
