Job summary

The City of Maple Ridge is seeking a Recreation Leader 3 – Children's Support Services to assist children with support needs aged 3 to 12 in group activities. You will follow individual support plans and help children participate alongside peers in recreation programs.

Work in a team of recreation leaders, provide day-to-day support, and maintain records. Requires Grade 12 and First Aid/CPR-C; hours are auxiliary under the collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 and courses related to the work, plus some related experience or equivalent training.
• Valid Standard/Intermediate First Aid and CPR/AED, Level C is required and must be attached.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one support for participants to enable participation in recreation programs.
• Prepares tools, supplies and resources for daily activities.
• Completes documentation and communicates with caregivers and agencies.
• Monitors safety, enforces rules, and responds to incidents as required.
