Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart is seeking an on-site Pharmacist to manage the pharmacy operations, provide counselling to customers and healthcare providers, and dispense medications. The role requires practicing to full scope, maintaining patient privacy, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will oversee workflow, inventory, and coordination with health professionals to deliver high-quality patient care within a locally owned store under a national brand.

• Proven ability to drive and build the business, lead by example and support enterprise programs.

• Strong problem-solving skills including experience formulating and executing action plans.
• Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Pharmacy systems a definite asset.
• Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed to provide a healthy and safe work environment.
• Complete mandatory training and voluntary continuing education workshops, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge all customers approaching the Pharmacy.
• Provide counselling on prescriptions and health products.
• Dispense medications and ensure accuracy.
• Communicate with health care professionals to provide customer care.
• Maintain records in accordance with legislation and policy.
• Control access to the dispensary and manage inventory.
• Review stock and manage orders from wholesalers.
• Ensure compliance with Controlled Drugs and Substances Act where applicable.
