Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is looking for compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSW) to join our community care team in Collingwood, ON. In this role, you will provide personal care in clients’ homes and help them maintain their independence.

The ideal candidate will have a PSW certificate, CPI Certification is preferred, and must be available for casual shifts including weekends. We offer competitive pay, flexible schedules, and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Carecor is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSW) to join our community care team. In this role, you will travel to clients’ homes to provide high‑quality personal care and support that empowers individuals to live safely and independently in their own environment.

Schedule

Casual. Days, evenings and weekends. Hourly rate: $21.50 to $27.50.

Location

Collingwood, ON (rural area).

Area of Work

Successful candidates will be seeing clients in person in the rural area of Collingwood.

Availability

Standard working hours are days (6am‑2pm) and evenings (2pm‑10pm). Employees need to be available to work every other weekend (2 weekends a month).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care service according to directions on the established care plan or assignment sheet, ensuring the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients.
• Provide personal care within the provincial scope of practice for a PSW; duties may include skin, hair, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, exercise, basic wound care, feeding (including special diets) and assistance with oxygen administration and medication reminders.
• Perform specialized, client‑specific procedures for which recognized training and current competence can be demonstrated.
• Observe and document client conditions according to company standards, and report unusual events or changes to the immediate supervisor or office.
• Understand and implement infection prevention practices.
• Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities.
• Adhere to Bayshore policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in line with the company’s Quality Management System.
• Participate in proactive health and safety activities while performing all duties and notify the immediate supervisor of any health and safety risks or concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information.
• Complete other tasks as requested.

Job Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or enrollment in a nursing pathway program or nursing student.
• CPI Certification required (Crisis Prevention & Intervention Training Certificate) – preferred.
• Clinical experience as a PSW within the past 2 years.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and N95 mask fit test certificate.
• Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (MMRV), Hepatitis B, and Tdap/Td.
• Proof of negative TB skin test within the past year or negative chest X-ray within the past 5 years.
• Willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Police Check as a condition of hire.

Please note that based on recent government mandates and directives, healthcare workers are now required to provide proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination. New hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
