Job summary

Carecor is seeking dedicated and compassionate Community Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our community care team. In this role, you will travel to clients’ homes in Russell, ON to provide high‑quality personal care and support that empowers individuals to live safely and independently.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, mobility, meal preparation, and companionship, while adhering to care plans and provincial PSW scope.

Qualifications

• Certified Home Support Worker or PSW certification or nursing pathway enrollment.
• Clinical experience as HSW or PSW within the past year.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and N95 mask fit-test certificate.
• Proof of a negative TB skin test within the past year or a negative chest X-ray within the past five years.
• Willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Police Check as a condition of hire.
• Healthcare workers are required to provide proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination prior to their start date.

• Perform tasks within the provincial PSW scope (skin care, bathing, mobility, toileting, etc.).
• Execute specialized, client-specific procedures with training and competence.

• Apply infection prevention practices.
• Engage in ongoing continuing education and quality initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and Bayshore Policies.
• Complete additional requested tasks.

Schedule

Casual. Work is required on days, evenings, and weekends. Standard hours are as follows: Days 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, Evenings 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. Employees must be available to work every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month).

Hourly Rate

$21.50–$26.50 per hour.

Position Summary

In this role, you will travel to clients’ homes to provide high‑quality personal care and support that empowers individuals to live safely and independently in their own environment. You will assist clients with daily living activities—including bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, toileting, medication reminders, light housekeeping, meal preparation, companionship, and emotional support. The role requires a PSW who works independently, adapts to varied client needs, and delivers dignified, person‑centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services in accordance with established care plans or assignment sheets, ensuring emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety.
• Perform tasks within the provincial scope of practice for a PSW, including skin care, hair care, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, exercise, basic wound care, feeding (including special diets), oxygen administration, and medication reminders.
• Execute specialized, client‑specific procedures that demonstrate recognized training and competence.
• Observe and document client conditions per company standards, reporting unusual events or changes to the supervisor or office.
• Apply infection prevention practices appropriately.
• Engage in ongoing internal or external continuing education activities.
• Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the company’s Quality Management System.
• Engage in proactive Health & Safety activities, notifying supervisors of any risks or concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information, discussing only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
• Complete additional requested tasks as needed.
