Job summary

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) seeks a full-time Community Nurse to join the Health & Wellness Department in Dauphin, MB. The role centers on delivering comprehensive nursing care rooted in primary health care, harm reduction, and community development for Métis Citizens.

Responsibilities include preventive care, health promotion, and cross-community support. Travel across the region is expected; a Manitoba driver’s license is required. MMF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master-level or public health certs preferred.
College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba registration required.
CPR certification required.
International Society for Travel Medicine certification preferred.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in public health, primary health care, or community development.
Experience working with an Indigenous community in a clinical setting is an asset.
Must be able to travel; Manitoba driver’s license with reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

Provide care aligned with MMF health approach and primary health care principles.
Deliver services in communities across the region.
Address environmental health issues and promote wellness for Métis Citizens and families.
Reduce health inequities by addressing determinants of health and promoting equity.
Respect diversity and work with varied populations including sexual and gender minorities.
Support self-determination and encourage family participation in health.
