Job summary

A community health organization is seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to provide vital community-based health services across multiple First Nation communities in Canada. The role includes managing communicable diseases, supporting STBBI education, and collaborating with community health staff. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s in Nursing, at least two years of experience, and cultural competency in Indigenous health matters. Extensive travel to communities is required, alongside exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in community/public health.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Implement prevention and management of communicable diseases.
• Support outbreak management and case contact tracing.
• Provide STBBI education, testing, and care.
• Collaborate with teams on environmental health issues.
