Job description

Relic is an award-winning developer of genre-defining strategy games including Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, and Age of Empires IV. Newly independent, we are positioned to better serve our players, experiment with exciting new game ideas, and continue delivering the rich interactive experiences players have come to expect from us over the last 25 years.

As a Community Manager at Relic, you’ll collaborate with the team to support and grow our global community engagement efforts and programs. You will be the link between developers and the community, ensuring our players come first. You like to dig deep at the roots of problems to help find actionable solutions and improve the quality of the games we make. By being on the forefront of the community management team, you will directly engage with our fans and support our development teams for years to come.

As a Community Manager, you will…

  • Champion a ‘player first’ approach by engaging across community channels, gathering diverse feedback, and managing online community platforms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to execute community strategies, support campaign planning, organize playtests, manage VIPs, and assist with customer support and business operations
  • Create and manage content including original copy for promotions and retention, social media calendars, and posts across all owned channels
  • Leverage platform expertise to optimize content discovery and performance across digital media, using insights to enhance reach and engagement
  • Support Community efforts across a range of tasks from sentiment reporting, campaign planning, live and recorded video production, playtest organization, VIP management, and internal communications
  • Tackle additional community management tasks shared by the community team, including managing community channels, policies, and data analysis across all platforms
  • Represent Relic both internally and externally at events, on camera, and in channels as needed

You’re a good fit if you have…

  • Proven experience as a Community Manager in the games industry, ideally with involvement in strategy or RTS communities or similar player-driven spaces
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft suite, plus a good understanding of social media platforms or management tools, norms, and algorithms
  • An eye for quality and attention to detail to deliver high-caliber content on tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation formats
  • Experience working cross-functionally with external teams and stakeholders
  • Experience either running or participating in video game communities, particularly in the strategy or RTS space
  • A desire to learn and grow with us

It’s a bonus if you have…

  • Knowledge of the software development process
  • Proficiency with livestreaming or video production
  • Fluency in German or Mandarin
  • A love for games! You are a gamer at heart and understand the strategy space

Compensation

The salary range for this position in British Columbia is between $65,000 - $90,000 CAD a year based on a 40-hour work week. The salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, knowledge, skills and competencies, and business or organizational needs.
