Job summary

Lac La Ronge Indian Band seeks a compassionate, patient Community Health Representative to support health services and empower community members to make healthy decisions. The role involves teamwork with health staff, coordinating clinics and events, and promoting health education.

The CHR focuses on building capacity within the community, delivering programs, and fostering calmness in dynamic situations while maintaining strong organization and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12; Community Health Representative certificate or related health care certificate.
• Basic computer skills; valid driver's license.
• Certified First Aid & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certification.
• Ability to speak/understand Cree is an asset.
• Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist health staff in delivering health care services and support health team activities.
• Act as liaison between community members and LLRIBHS staff and health programs.
• Assist in delivering health programs by obtaining consents, transporting community members, and coordinating clinics and events.
• Plan and deliver health promotion activities, workshops and public awareness materials.
