Job summary
A local community organization is seeking a full-time Alternative Care Worker in Neebing, Ontario. This role involves providing support and resources for children in alternative care. Responsibilities include recruiting and supervising care parents and ensuring innovative placements are developed. The ideal candidate has a Human Services Diploma, experience with Anishinabek families, and must possess a valid Class G Driver’s License. This position offers a wage between $32.66 and $41.37 per hour and prefers Indigenous applicants.
Qualifications
A minimum two-year Human Services Diploma is required. A three-year BSW is preferred.
A minimum of two years' experience with Anishinabek children, youth, individuals, and families.
Preferably Child Welfare experience.
Satisfactory Criminal Records Search, including Vulnerable Sector Check.
Must possess a valid Class G Driver’s License.
Access to a reliable personal vehicle with $1 million dollar liability.
Responsibilities
Recruiting, assessing, training, and supporting alternative care parents.
Creating innovative placements for hard to serve children.
Ensuring compliance with Child and Family Services Act and agency policies.
