Job summary

Regent Park CHC is seeking a Community Engagement Worker to support implementation of its engagement framework and build trusted relationships with community members, groups and partners in Toronto. The role requires regular outreach, consultation and coordination of advisory groups to promote meaningful participation in health planning and programs.

The CEW will work evenings/weekends as needed, strengthen leadership capacity, and connect residents with RPCHC resources.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in community development, social work, health promotion, public health or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years in community engagement/outreach with diverse, equity-deserving communities.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and facilitate inclusive participation.
• Knowledge of health equity and social determinants of health with trauma-informed approaches.
• Experience supporting advisory groups and volunteers is an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational and data collection skills with reporting ability.

Responsibilities

• Implement engagement activities aligned with RPCHC priorities.
• Build relationships with community members, groups, leaders and partners.
• Conduct outreach to raise awareness of RPCHC programs and opportunities.
• Represent RPCHC at events, meetings and collaborative initiatives.
• Coordinate advisory groups, recruit participants and facilitate sessions.
• Plan and facilitate consultations, listening sessions and workshops.
• Support volunteer engagement and maintain records and coverage.
• Monitor participation, collect feedback and prepare reports.
