Job summary

Ontario Health in Toronto seeks a Health Equity Lead, Indigenous Populations to strengthen Indigenous engagement and health equity strategies. You will work with regional and provincial partners, communities and organizations to improve access to services and outcomes while advancing culturally safe learning and care environments.

The role leads collaboration with First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban Indigenous communities, organizations and leaders to drive meaningful change in Toronto Region.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in health administration, health planning, business administration, research or a relevant field.
  • Five years of management experience in complex, dynamic health care environments in the public and/or private sectors.
  • Three years of experience working in Indigenous programs related to health education.
  • Knowledge of FNIMUI health planning and cultural protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities and partners to advance regional priorities.
  • Represent Ontario Health Toronto on committees and project teams focused on health equity and integration.
  • Provide advice and strategic input to senior leaders on Indigenous engagement and community issues.
  • Foster respectful collaboration to support shared accountability and outcomes.
  • Lead engagement with First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban Indigenous communities and partners.
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert on Indigenous health equity, engagement and planning.
