Job summary

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in community relations, public communications, or stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication plans for Dixon Hall’s winter respite and surge capacity centres, shelters, and housing sites.
• Coordinate and distribute resident and tenant communications including notices, updates, and newsletters.
• Draft clear, empathetic messages about updates, construction, or service changes.
• Support signage, FAQs, and information packages for housing and shelter programs.
• Collaborate with site managers to identify issues and provide communication solutions.
• Act as a key contact for community engagement and maintain relationships with residents and partners.
• Monitor public sentiment and provide updates to leadership; support rapid response with MarComm and Housing teams.
• Highlight stories of client progress and partnerships; create content for newsletters, website, and social media.
• Ensure communications align with Dixon Hall’s brand voice and inclusion.
