  • The Position:

    Summit Search Group has been retained by a respected and well-established law firm on the recruitment of their newest Commercial Real Estate Paralegal. Our client is known for delivering top-tier legal services with a practical, client-centered approach, the firm offers a collaborative and professional environment where team members are supported, valued, and encouraged to grow. With a diverse portfolio of legal expertise, the firm continues to expand and is looking for a motivated individual who can take ownership of a key practice area within their commercial division.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned paralegal to step into a role with leadership potential in the firm’s commercial real estate department. This newly created role primarily supports one senior lawyer, with occasional collaboration across the broader legal team. The successful candidate will effectively run the commercial department’s daily operations, supported by administrative staff and a collaborative legal culture. The role is highly autonomous and well-suited for an individual seeking both challenge and career progression.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and manage commercial real estate and financing files from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout each transaction.
    • Liaise with clients, lawyers, lenders, and third parties to gather necessary documentation and ensure timely progress on complex commercial matters.
    • Prepare, review, and manage trust letters, statements of adjustments, and closing documentation while ensuring compliance with trust conditions.
    • Maintain close oversight of transaction timelines and proactively manage tasks to avoid delays or missed deadlines.
    • Utilize in-depth knowledge of Land Titles Office procedures to register legal documents, including the preparation and registration of Mylars.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship within the commercial department, contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in commercial real estate and commercial financing.
    • Strong understanding of commercial transaction processes, including mergers and acquisitions, with the ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
    • Proven track record in managing large, complex files while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with LTO processes and documentation, including practical experience in registering documents.
