Job summary

Coast Capital Savings in Victoria, BC seeks an Associate to support an assigned team of Relationship Managers in the Commercial Real Estate group. The role involves preparing financial analyses, credit requests and day-to-day banking solutions to serve commercial members.

The position focuses on commercial lending activity, deposits, and risk management, with exposure to a sophisticated portfolio and opportunities for advancement within the real estate finance sector.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–6 years of job-related experience.
• Experience in financial services including lending, commercial banking, portfolio management and business development.
• High School Diploma plus completion of a Diploma Program (two years of formal education or equivalent).
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Commerce, MBA or other relevant designation (i.e. accounting designation) would be an asset.
• Completion of commercial real estate Industry specific post-secondary programs or internships may be given consideration in lieu of some of the required years of job-related experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of commercial products (credit and deposits).
• Basic knowledge of financial statements and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Basic knowledge of commercial credit (analysis, policies, security analysis and monitoring).
• Proficient knowledge in computer programs working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and complete assigned tasks with timely delivery and strong customer service.
• Process customer requests accurately within defined timeframes according to policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide proactive, friendly service and identify referrals to add value to relationships.
• Prepare everyday banking, lending and investment product documentation.
• Provide service support for basic Cash Management products.
• Assist in preparing credit applications and financial analysis for decisions.
• Generate monthly reporting requirements.
• Identify potential risk issues and suggest process improvements.
• Support credit monitoring and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Protect assets by understanding risks and ensuring regulatory adherence.
• Collaborate with Syndications, GRM and branch contacts to aid RMs in sales and referrals.
