Position Summary

Reporting to the Commercial Manager/Winnipeg, the Elevator Commercial Manager will be accountable for the P&L and execution of the Vanscoy, SK location. The position will have responsibilities including but not limited to logistics, grain origination, customer service, accounting and working very closely with local and regional operations management. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customer and vendor accounts, working closely with the trading and risk management team in Winnipeg. The manager will also be tasked with supporting colleagues in the surrounding ADM facilities to continue advancing ADM’s corporate strategies surrounding pulse origination and trading.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Position Management
  • Lead P&L and Budget Reviews for the location
  • Assist in Month End Reporting Responsibilities
  • Production & Position Report Reviews & Approvals
  • Assist with Facility Internal & 3rd Party Audits
  • Review Inventory Reports and Schedules
  • Complete Scheduling Position Training
  • Lead internal and external Sales Growth
  • Drive communication with ADM originators and local grower base
  • Promote ADM as a Strong partner and employer in the local community
  • Work to attain positive, cooperative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions & responsibilities
  • Portray a positive image of the company and self when interacting with customers & colleagues
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting) and a minimum of five years of grain merchandising experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to excel within a high-risk fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions
  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team environment
  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software

The successful candidate must have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, and be an active participant in a team environment. Excellent computer skills are an asset (Microsoft applications).
