Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Woodstock, Ontario is seeking a Commercial Driver for a full-time, permanent role.

You will operate a commercial motor vehicle between terminals, ensure trips are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and maintain accurate logs. The position offers hourly pay of CAD 28.50, 10 days of Paid Time Off on hire, excellent benefits after 30 days, retirement plan options including DCPP and RRSP, and a safety-focused workplace

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 months verifiable commercial driving experience.
• No more than one moving violation or accident (not including parking) in the last 12 months.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Detect and minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate logs.
• Load/unload freight or assist as required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Commercial Driver position operates a commercial motor vehicle driving between pick-up and destination terminals. Ensures that trips are run safety, efficiently and in compliance with company and DOT regulations.

Essential Functions

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs

• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer

• Performs other duties as assigned.
