Job summary

RBC in Halifax is seeking a Credit Specialist to support a high-performing commercial banking team with portfolio management and compliance. You will advise on business, financial and credit matters and partner with the Commercial Account Manager to optimize client-facing time.

Responsibilities include credit requests, annual reviews, risk-guided credit applications, and mentoring colleagues to serve diverse clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in financial and credit analysis for exceptional client relationship management.
• Specialized industry expertise in real estate, healthcare or agriculture assets.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial lending experience in a financial institution.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience with emerging communications and technology (web meetings, digital tools).

Responsibilities

• Leverage business analysis skills to meet client expectations for credit requests and annual reviews.
• Provide quality credit advice through presentation options that articulate advantages to the client.
• Demonstrate RBC’s ability to provide creative financial solutions quickly and effectively.
• Coach, mentor and assist colleagues to meet the needs of all clients.
• Exercise due diligence in recommending credit applications with Risk Management collaboration.
