Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional seeks a Content Lawyer (Commercial Law) to develop practical guidance for Canadian legal professionals. You will create and maintain high-quality content and collaborate with a cross-functional team to advance content and product strategies.

You will write notes, checklists, precedents, monitor trends, and support sales and marketing with demonstrations and trainings. Fluency in French is a plus; J.D./LL.B. and bar admission required.

Qualifications

• J.D./LL.B. and member in good standing of a Canadian bar.
• 3+ years of practice in Commercial law.
• In-House Counsel experience is an asset.
• Deep knowledge of Commercial law and workflow.
• Strong professional network of Commercial lawyers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience drafting or editing client materials, law journals, CLE presentations or other legal content.
• Proficient with MS Office products.
• Fluent in French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Write, review and edit practice notes, checklists, flowcharts, precedents and other practice-related materials.
• Ensure currency and relevancy of all materials in the product.
• Monitor trends and developments in this practice area.
• Monitor competitiveness of the product offering.
• Recruit and manage relationships with legal practitioners and firms across Canada.
• Make recommendations concerning overall content strategy and direction.
• Work within a cross-functional team to execute on content and product development strategies and deliver high-quality content within timelines.
• Support sales and marketing efforts via product demonstrations, trainings and other initiatives.
