The role requires an intermediate to advanced level of collection experience, ideally with specialization in the insurance sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and investigating aged debts, maintaining accurate records of collection activities, and communicating effectively with internal claim handlers, administrative members, and clients. This role will also assist the finance manager with additional accounting duties as needed. The successful candidate will provide critical support to all Canadian insurance entities.


Responsibilities

  • Send payment reminders to clients.
  • Identify and manage delinquent accounts.
  • Investigate and analyze the sources of aged debts, ensuring root causes are understood and addressed.
  • Effectively communicate findings to file handlers, the administrative team, and the finance manager.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date records of collection statuses.
  • Collaborate with clients to resolve outstanding issues and ensure timely payments.
  • Perform additional accounting duties as required to meet business needs.

What will help you succeed in this role?

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the Lloyd’s market or the insurance sector is a significant asset.
  • Demonstrated expertise in credit and collections, with a minimum of intermediate to advanced experience.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word, with the ability to adapt quickly to new software, processes, and programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and teamwork abilities.
