Job description

Kelly Services is seeking a Collections Specialist for a full-time, permanent position with our client — a top-tier debt recovery law firm located in Mississauga, ON.

Primary Duties :

Recovery Action on delinquent Accounts, including contact with debtors, discussing repayment and guiding where necessary with a view to achieving recovery of the account.

Ability to perform skip tracing and attention to detail in determining avenues for debt recovery.

Maintaining account history on the internal collections system

Ensuring adherence to client directives

Ensuring the achievement of various client centered and company targets.

Determining whether customer files are actionable via legal remedies and preparing support for same

Qualifications and Skills :

Minimum of 3 years of collections experience, preferably within banks or financial institutions

Proven background in recovering delinquent accounts including mortgages, lines of credit, and automobile loans

High school diploma required; post-secondary education in legal or a related field is an asset

Proficient in industry-standard collections software and able to quickly learn and adapt to proprietary or custom-built systems

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and handle sensitive customer interactions professionally

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail

Technologically proficient, with strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and contribute to a high-performing collections team

Salary : $43,000–$45,000 annually, plus uncapped commission
