Job description

Taylor Leibow LLP is a full-service Chartered Professional Accounting firm located in Hamilton, Ontario. For over the last 75 years, Taylor Leibow has served a diverse set of clients and is one of the largest independent CPA firms in the Hamilton and Burlington regions.

Taylor Leibow is seeking a part-time Collections Specialist to join our Hamilton office. The role would require the successful candidate to be available for approximately 21 hours/week. This role has the potential to be completed remotely or through a hybrid work arrangement, however, the successful candidate would be required to work from the office initially for job training/onboarding and understanding the expectations. The successful candidate may also be required to attend the office as needed once established in the role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Contact clients by telephone regarding overdue accounts;
  • Exhibit a strong and confident presence with clients, while also maintaining a professional and personable demeanour;
  • Develop a positive relationship with clients;
  • Monitor client accounts for missed payments;
  • Produce regular updates to Partners on overdue client accounts;
  • Provide recommendations on options for delinquent accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in collections within a professional services office;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good professional demeanour with the ability to have difficult conversations;
  • Accurate with considerable attention to detail;
  • Ability to learn new computer software and use efficiently;
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
