Job summary

College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is hiring an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) for the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Campus on a casual basis. You will work with a supportive team to provide high‑quality care and education to young children, building safe learning environments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development theories and early learning methodologies.
• Knowledge of ECE health and safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Create learning experiences based on children's interests and needs.
• Set up and adapt the environment to support growth.
• Ensure safe, healthy learning environments following ECE standards.
• Observe and document children's development to guide planning.
• Support research initiatives to enhance ECE.
• Mentor ECE students during placements.
• Collaborate with ECE faculty to align practices with CNA standards.
• Maintain open communication with families about development.
• Engage families in learning to strengthen home-centre connections.
• Reflect on practices to improve learning experiences.
• Build partnerships with colleagues, students, and advisors.
• Support ongoing projects that explore children's interests.
• Stay current with research and best practices via professional development.
• Perform other duties to support operation of Centre.
