Huawei Canada’s Noah’s Ark lab is offering a co-op Researcher position in Markham. You will participate in LLM reasoning and agent research, implement algorithms, and deploy prototypes into internal products.

You will collaborate with researchers and produce insightful technical reports while staying current with ML advances. The ideal candidate is enrolled in a senior CS program, proficient in Python and PyTorch, with experience in DL architectures and LLMs, and has exposure to

• Enrolled in a senior Bachelor or Master’s in CS or related field.
• Strong knowledge of DL components and architectures (Transformers, LSTM, GNN).
• Experience training or inference with LLMs.
• Experience applying ML models to real-world tasks.
• Strong Python coding skills; experience with PyTorch.
• Experience in parallel model training; knowledge of HuggingFace and DeepSpeed is a plus.
• Experience with training or inference using LLMs is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

About the team:

Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including Next Generation Foundation Model, Agentic Models, Physical AI and Reinforcement Learning.

About the job:

• Participate in the innovative LLMs reasoningand LLMs empowered Agent research project;
• Implement algorithms for proposed models and applications, deploy into internal product;
• Work closely with researchers in the team;
• Keeping up-to-date on selected areas of ML and write insight report, technical reports.

About the ideal candidate:

• Currently enroll in senior Bachelor or Master’s in Computer Science or a related technical field;
• Good knowledge of Deep Learning (DL) components (training, regularization, generalization) and familiar with common DL architectures (e.g., Transformers, LSTM, GNN);
• Have experience in training or inference using Large Language Model (LLMs);
• Have experience in applying Machine learning model for real-world applications;
• Strong coding skills in Python, experience with coding in Pytorch;
• Experience in parallel model training is a plus, experience in Huggingfac & DeepSpeedis an asset;
• Have experience in training or inference using Large Language Model (LLMs) is an asset;
• Good verbal & written communication skill is an asset.
• Applicants must be enrolled in a co-op program and be registered for an official co-op work term for the full duration of the employment period
