Job summary

Fleetway is seeking a Jr. Naval Architect/Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (co-op) to join our engineering team in St. John’s, NL. You will help design, analyze, and integrate marine systems for government and commercial vessels as part of a collaborative group.

This role offers hands-on experience in naval architecture, 2D/3D drafting, and documentation, with opportunities to contribute to Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy and gain exposure to shipbuilding projects and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Naval Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree program.
• 0–2+ years of experience in a technical or engineering role.
• Exposure to 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering design/integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and interpreting 3D models of equipment, foundations, piping systems, and structural components.
• Support creation and interpretation of 2D engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, installations, and arrangements.
• Review vessel documentation, participate in vessel surveys, and validate legacy records.
• Contribute to reviewing and implementing Engineering Changes (ECs) and managing configuration changes.
• Assist in introducing new capabilities and sustaining existing systems.
