Job summary

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineering Co-op Student to support land development and municipal infrastructure projects in Edmonton. The 8-month term runs January through August, offering hands-on experience in design, field work, and consulting under experienced engineers and professionals.

You will assist with site grading, utilities, and stormwater, while developing practical skills in calculations, drawings, reports, and data analysis. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
• Available for an 8-month co-op placement from January through August.
• Interest in municipal engineering, land development, and community infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and design of land development and municipal infrastructure projects.
• Assist with grading, site servicing, stormwater management, and transportation-related assignments.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in site visits, field reviews, and construction-related activities.
• Collect and analyze project data to support engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers on project delivery.
• Contribute to projects that support the growth and development of communities.
