Working closely with the CEO and alongside another Co-Director of Care, you'll play an important role in ensuring residents receive exceptional, compassionate care while the organization continues to meet the highest regulatory and clinical standards.

If you're a collaborative leader who understands that great care starts with great people, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Nursing Leadership & Resident Care

  • Ensure residents’ needs are identified, monitored, and addressed through effective care delivery.
  • Ensure resident care plans are current, implemented, and effectively communicated to residents, families, Power of Attorney representatives, and staff.
  • Lead multidisciplinary care conferences and promote collaborative approaches to resident care.
  • Oversee mandatory nursing programs in accordance with applicable long-term care legislation and organizational standards.
Quality & Clinical Excellence
  • Lead the Nursing Quality Improvement program.
  • Conduct regular nursing audits and support staff in understanding and applying quality improvement principles.
  • Develop and monitor the Quality Improvement Plan in collaboration with relevant quality organizations.
  • Monitor documentation and processes related to CMI requirements to support compliance and appropriate funding.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical practices, resident outcomes, and overall quality of care.
Infection Prevention & Control
  • Provide overall leadership for the Infection Prevention and Control program.
  • Work closely with the IPAC Lead to monitor surveillance, education, and outbreak management.
  • Ensure staff are appropriately educated and supported in maintaining infection prevention standards.
Medication Management & Safety
  • Partner with the Pharmacist to ensure the safe administration and management of medications.
  • Ensure medication processes comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the secure storage and appropriate disposal of drugs and narcotics.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability across the nursing department.
People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and support nursing staff to achieve departmental and resident-care objectives.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for nursing department employees.
  • Manage the nursing master schedule.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and orientation of nursing team members.
  • Build a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
Health & Safety
  • Provide first aid treatment to staff members when required.
  • Ensure workplace injuries are appropriately documented and required WSIB documentation is completed.
What You Bring
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Registered Nurse certificate and medication certification from a recognized community college or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in geriatric care, long-term care, rehabilitation, or a closely related environment.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating restorative care programs.
  • Strong understanding of resident-centred care and the needs of an aging population.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, delegate, and supervise the work of nursing personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing quality improvement and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary leadership team.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends when operationally required.
  • A compassionate, resident-first approach to leadership.
  • Comfort working within an environment that respects and practices traditional Christian values.
