Join to apply for the CNC Operator - Night Shift role at Argus.

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines safely and efficiently, finishing products accurately to reduce non-compliance pieces, and working effectively with the Supervisor and team members to complete and ship orders on time.

What You’ll Do
  • Interpret production orders, including part descriptions, material grades, documents, and drawings.
  • Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to operate CNC machines responsibly and efficiently. Update and sign off on production orders as needed.
  • Understand the sequence of operations for each production order.
  • Program CNC machines to meet customer specifications based on work order instructions.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, making program adjustments during production as necessary. Use measuring tools and gauges appropriately.
  • Manufacture both routine and complex parts from raw materials.
  • Use overhead cranes and pallet jacks safely to move raw materials and finished products. Handle materials carefully to prevent damage and report concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
  • Complete work orders on time, plan and prioritize workload, and coordinate with the Plant Supervisor to resolve issues.
  • Maintain the CNC area and equipment daily, reporting any concerns to the Supervisor and Maintenance team.
  • Document completed work and route products and documentation properly.
  • Record time, switch codes, scan router operations, and input product quantities and parts used.
What You Bring
  • At least 2 years of machining experience.
  • High school diploma.
  • CNC Machinist/Operator ticket is an asset.
  • Knowledge of part fixturing and work holding is preferred.
  • Understanding of products/services related to the oil and gas industry.
  • Basic knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing).
Work Environment
  • Shop floor environment requiring extended standing and working with products.
  • Wearing PPE at all times during work.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly without mechanical aid.
