Job summary

North Shore Billet is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate a range of CNC milling and turning equipment to manufacture components to tight tolerances. The role requires reading complex drawings, programming CNC machines, and ensuring high-quality finishes.

You will work with Haas, Hurco, Brother or Matsuura controls and use Fusion 360 CAD/CAM. The team emphasizes safety, independence, and teamwork in a dynamic mountain-bike oriented shop in Whistler.

Qualifications

• CNC milling experience with 4 years preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience programming CNC machines.
• Knowledge of machine operation, tooling, and setup.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Understanding of safety standards in machining.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools to manufacture components to spec.
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches.
• Use precision measuring tools for QC.
• Package finished products and assist with assembly as needed.
• Knowledge of Haas, Matsuura, Hurco, and/or Brother controls is a plus.
• Knowledge of Fusion 360 CAD/CAM software is preferred.
• Learn new skills and follow written procedures.
• Identify and source tooling and materials for proper shop operation.
• Maintain QA program for materials and parts per ASTM F1193.
• Multitask and prioritize work.
• Perform machine maintenance as required.
• Maintain documentation and organizational skills.
• Communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
