The CNC Machine Operator role is responsible for producing parts in accordance with supplied drawings and specifications.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills equipment.
- Perform machining tasks using milling machines and sometimes lathes.
- Load and unload parts onto the machine table.
- Machine parts to specifications.
- Machine individual weldments, including drilling, tapping holes, and milling on parts.
- Verify conformance of parts to specifications using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, micrometers, and fixed gauges; fill out inspection reports as required.
- Check workpieces to ensure they are properly lubricated or cooled.
- Clean machined parts for assembly.
- Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
- Detect equipment malfunctions and report to supervisor.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities related to the machine and/or machining process.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education Level
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Computer Skills
- Experience in using computers.
- ERP experience is an asset.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience using mills or CNC machines.
- Good working knowledge of tools, blueprints, and drawings.
- Set-up and programming skills are assets but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs repetitively, comfortably, and safely.
- Highly punctual.
- Able to work as a functioning member of a team.
- Safety-conscious individual.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively and efficiently.
- Knowledge of production quality standards; work experience in an ISO-certified environment is an asset.
