Position Summary

The CNC Wood Machine Operator is responsible for performing routine and varied tasks in alignment with production processes within the wood machining department. The Wood Machine Operator will support their job functions while cross-training on other positions as required, and must comply with SOPs, quality standards, and adhere to Health & Safety and BRC policies consistently.

Responsibilities

  1. Participate in educational and cross-training responsibilities applicable to the position.
  2. Set up and operate woodworking machinery, including CNCs, edge banders, and/or panel saws.
  3. Complete CNC programming, edgebanding programming, and/or panel saw programming.
  4. Follow work order procedures while ensuring safe operating practices.
  5. Maintain production quality according to company criteria.
  6. Read drawings, sketches, BOMs, and perform dimensional inspections using tape measures.
  7. Perform standard daily and preventative maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating equipment, and replacing parts and tooling.
  8. Monitor machinery production lines, troubleshoot software issues, and report malfunctions.
  9. Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  10. Prioritize quality control, inspect parts for defects, and ensure parts meet standards.
  11. Perform work according to BRC standards and ensure final products meet quality standards.
  12. Collaborate with team members to ensure productivity and adherence to schedules.
  13. Comply with all health and safety policies, including wearing PPE at all times.
  14. Keep workspace clean and organized, fostering positive relationships through respect and effective communication.
  15. Work overtime as required.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
