A leading automation solutions provider in Southwestern Ontario is seeking a new team member for their Global Product Information department. The role involves maintaining and enhancing tools for converting Word documents to DITA XML, supporting a team of Technical Writers, and troubleshooting errors. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Familiarity with XML and structured writing is beneficial, but not required. This role is with the Global Product Information (GPI) department at Dematic. You will help configure, maintain, and enhance a toolset for authoring product documentation using DITA XML. This includes supporting a large team of Technical Writers who create documentation for Dematic's mechatronics, software, and solutions products.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing the software plugins that transform technical documentation in DITA XML to a variety of delivery formats. You will also help maintain and enhance our toolset for converting existing MS Word documents to DITA XML. Other tasks include converting content from MS Word to DITA, maintaining our content delivery platform, and editing content post-conversion to ensure accuracy and quality.
Familiarity with DITA XML and structured writing is an asset but not a requirement. CSS and XSLT skills are nice-to-haves but not required.
