Job summary
FirstOntario Credit Union Limited is seeking a Manager of Credit Solutions & CMHC Underwriting to lead underwriting and management of a CMHC-insured commercial lending portfolio in Hamilton, ON. You will guide a team of Commercial Business Analysts and work with Account Managers and Credit Adjudication to grow CMHC lending responsibly.
The role emphasizes transaction structuring, regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional member experience, while staying current on CMHC program changes
Qualifications
- 4–6 years in commercial lending with significant real estate financing exposure.
- Experience underwriting multifamily, CMHC-insured real estate transactions.
- Strong CMHC policy knowledge and underwriting standards.
- Advanced financial analysis and risk assessment capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead underwriting and execution of CMHC-insured multifamily loans, including various rental housing projects.
- Coach and mentor Commercial Business Analysts and Account Managers on CMHC requirements.
- Develop and implement underwriting standards and best practices for CMHC programs.
- Provide portfolio oversight including covenant monitoring and risk assessment.
