Job summary

FirstOntario Credit Union in St. Catharines, ON, seeks a Senior Manager, Credit Solutions, Commercial Services to lead a team of commercial Business Analysts and drive underwriting, credit management and loan portfolio growth.

You will support new loan origination and collaborate with Account Management to reach revenue targets. The role requires strong underwriting expertise in commercial real estate, risk management, and leadership, with hybrid work arrangements and a focus on member

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Commerce and/or Economics or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of experience in Business/Commercial banking or related roles.
• 3+ years of Commercial Real Estate underwriting experience.
• Development and Construction underwriting experience is an asset.
• Strong initiative, planning, and leadership abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of commercial Business Analysts.
• Manage annual reviews, renewals and delinquencies within targets.
• Assess new business opportunities with Account Management for revenue growth.
• Structure and negotiate commercial credit transactions and prepare writeups.
• Collaborate with Credit Department to obtain approvals within risk guidelines.
• Monitor the commercial lending portfolio for risk and policy compliance.
• Communicate with members regarding products, services, and advice.
• Stay informed on local market activity and economic trends.
