This role offers an opportunity to lead a field engineering team, assisting customers with Canonical's open source solutions across public clouds and data centers. The team works with a broad spectrum of technologies, including Ubuntu, virtualization, private cloud, Kubernetes, and advanced open source platforms like MLops and data platforms. As Canonical expands into new industries such as telco, finance, healthcare, and media, we develop tailored open source solutions.

The role of a Cloud Field Engineering Manager at Canonical
The team comprises cloud solutions architects working directly with customers to design private and public cloud solutions, including on-premise options like OpenStack, MicroCloud, Ceph, and deployable solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL. Managers oversee hands-on deployment, testing, and handover, and participate in presales to advise during sales processes.
The manager is responsible for line management, career development, representing the team technically, and fostering collaboration both internally and with customers. Active participation in presales is expected to meet quarterly goals.
