Job summary

Apple Inc. in Vancouver, BC, Canada seeks a Xcode Cloud Distributed Systems Engineer to shape the future of development tools across iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS platforms.

You will design and implement core services, APIs and scalable infrastructure for high-availability developer workflows. The role requires 3+ years of experience, proficiency in strongly typed or functional languages, and a passion for cloud-based service design.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strongly typed or functional programming languages (e.g., Kotlin, Scala, Java, Swift).
• Designing, developing, debugging, deploying and operating cloud-based software services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs powering Xcode Cloud.
• Architect scalable, secure infrastructure for high-availability workflows.
• Collaborate with the developer tools org to deliver cross-system features.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in reviews to ensure quality.
• Debug production issues across the stack and implement lasting fixes.
• Contribute to system design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Monitor service health and build tooling for observability and reliability.
