Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a qualified finance professional to lead period-end close, journal governance, and financial controls in a Canada-based role. You will collaborate with the Director of Finance and multiple stakeholders, ensuring IFRS compliance and accurate reporting.

The role involves travel to Montreal for SAP integration work and requires strong leadership, audit readiness, and a manufacturing/CPG background is an asset.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with university degree in Business/Accounting.
• Deep expertise in Record-to-Report processes, close governance, and financial controls.
• Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and ability to review outputs.
• Audit readiness, internal controls, and segregation of duties experience.
• Stakeholder leadership across Maple Leaf subsidiaries.
• Willingness to travel to Montreal for go-live activities.

Responsabilités

• Manage period-end close activities including journals, accruals, adjustments, and trial balance review.
• Review balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee journal entries and financial statements per policy and timelines.
• Monitor accounting issues and escalate high-risk matters to leadership.
• Support SAP go-live at the Viau subsidiary and system improvements.
