Job summary

Lookout Housing and Health Society in Vancouver is seeking a part-time Clinical Support Worker to join our Powell Horizon area team. You will support residents, provide education, and help build independence and stable living arrangements under the supervision of the Site Manager.

The role requires respirator fit testing, COR certification, and compliance with WorkSafeBC. A minimum diploma or certificate and two years of related experience are preferred, with first aid certification and strong

Qualifications

  • Related Diploma or Certificate or minimum Grade 12 education, plus two (2) year of recent related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Familiarity with community resources, particularly addiction, mental health and harm reduction.
  • Criminal Record Clearance – vulnerable sector

Responsibilities

  • Will participate in resident intake and provide support services and assessment
  • Will identify challenges for resident and develop service plans, crisis intervention, administer finances and medication
  • Ensure that basic needs are met by working closely with the individual on a long-term, ongoing basis
  • Complete required paper work and maintain statistical and evaluative data
  • Assist with volunteers and practicum students on site
  • Some external work is likely to occur. Use of an automobile may at times be useful
  • Case planning
  • Employees are expected to remain alert and attentive during working hours. Sleeping during shifts is not permitted
  • Responsible for complying with and contributing to all aspects of health and safety program
  • Other duties as required

Education

Diploma or Certificate or Grade 12 education with 2 years related experience
OFA 1 First Aid Certification
Crisis Intervention Training an asset
