Job summary

Lookout Housing and Health Society in Surrey, BC, is hiring a Harm Reduction Worker to support our Harm Reduction Program under the Program Manager. The HRW oversees harm reduction supplies, orients and supports staff, and educates guests while distributing supplies in accordance with COR standards.

The role involves working with individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges, and requires fit testing and a clean shaven face for respirator use.

Qualifications

• Certificate in social services or 2+ years related experience.
• Familiarity with harm reduction, addiction, mental health resources.
• OFA Level 1, negative TB test, valid Class 5 driver's license and clean record.
• Naloxone training and CPI or trauma-informed practice training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight, coordination and education of Lookout’s Harm Reduction program and Needle Distribution program.
• Assist staff and managers with implementing approved harm reduction practices.
• Support clients by identifying and sharing information on resources.
• Maintain related manual and computerized records.
• Participate as a team member to ensure a safe and caring environment.
• Comply with health and safety programs and stay alert during shifts.
