Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs' Calgary Genetics & Genomics team seeks a Clinical Genetics Technologist I to support Cytogenetic and Molecular Genetic Laboratories at Alberta Children's Hospital, with potential rotations through Genome Core. You will perform routine and complex molecular and cytogenetic testing to deliver accurate, timely results.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree plus advanced diploma in Clinical Genetics.
• Active or eligible for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
• CSMLS certification in Clinical Genetics may be acceptable as an equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex testing using molecular and cytogenetic techniques.
• Enter results into LIS, generate reports, and conduct quality control.
• Participate in proficiency testing, lab safety, literature review, test method evaluation, and documentation.
• Maintain lab equipment, train students, and participate in accreditation activities.
• Handle pre-analytical testing processes including accessioning.
