Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Program Director or Senior, and under their general direction, the psychologist provides developmental and psychological assessments and treatments for infants, children, adolescents, and their families referred to the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children's Health.

Travel may be required for this position. Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements and may involve the use of a personal vehicle.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Doctoral degree in clinical child psychology (or equivalent).
  • Current licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Psychologist.
  • One to five years of experience working with infants, children, and adolescents with developmental disorders or emotional/behavioral disturbances.
  • Experience in supervised practice of clinical child psychology is preferred.
  • Valid BC Driver's license.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and instructional skills.
  • Ability to stay current with developments in the field of Psychology.
